Curtiss-Wright operations have accumulated over 40 years of experience in applying critical tolerance coatings, and have pioneered the development and application of solid film lubricant (SFL) coatings. With a network of nine facilities, we are the largest applicator of SFL coatings in North America. A facility in Evesham, U.K. applies a broad range of SFL and other coatings to steel, titanium and aluminum substrates.  And another facility in the U.S. specializes in the application of parylene coatings.

SFL coatings are effective in applications where conventional wet lubricants provide insufficient protection from high temperatures, extreme loads, wear or corrosion. We also apply other coatings that provide performance-enhancing benefits such as corrosion and oxidation protection, wear resistance, electrical insulation, electromagnetic shielding and chemical agent resistance.

• Commercial Aerospace – Fasteners, wing and structural parts, turbine engines, rotating components (blade roots), gears, bearings, shafts, valves, pistons.
