CURTISS-WRIGHT NAMES JOANNE M. KARIMI VICE PRESIDENT, HUMAN RESOURCES

CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 7, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Curtiss-Wright Corporation (NYSE:CW) today announced that Joanne M. Karimi has been named Vice President, Human Resources, effective immediately.

Adams, President and CEO of Curtiss-Wright Corporation. "Joanne brings a wealth of experience in promoting Human Resources best practices to Curtiss-Wright, and is a proven successful executive.  She will play a critical role in leading our team towards achieving our strategic growth objectives."

Ms. Karimi will report directly to Mr. Adams. She is succeeding Paul J. Ferdenzi, who was recently named Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, who had assumed the role of Vice President, Human Resources of the Corporation since November 2011. 

Ms. Karimi has an extensive background in executive communications, global realignment and restructuring efforts, development and acquisition of talent, and oversight of business strategy and operations.

Prior to joining Curtiss-Wright, Ms. Karimi was employed by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, leading the company's human resources function. Prior to that, she served in various capacities with increasing responsibility at PacifiCord, CCI, FARO Technologies and The Walt Disney Company. She began her career in human resources at Barnett Banks, and also was a former president of the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD).

Ms. Karimi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of West Florida.
